August Currently!

Crazy to think that it's August, but I've been saying that all summer; time has literally flown! That's alright though, I'm ready to get back to school... even if my classroom and lessons aren't quite yet :)
Listening: My husband left bright and early this morning for a trip up to Ames, Iowa for work and I left shortly after for school. After working all day, I left just in time to catch the parade. I'm finally sitting and enjoying the silence (aside from the tapping on the keyboard.)

Loving: I enjoyed seeing several former students who were either in the parade or sitting near me. Seeing them, makes me all the more excited to start the new school year.

Thinking: I don't want to say how many hours it took me to hang all of my bulletin boards. It's embarrassing. I partly blame my OCDish tendencies on mundane matters, like borders looking just right. I could have used an extra set of hands or two.

Here is a peek at several different boards. After all that hard work, I'm not sure I want to cover them. Thanks to Tara @ 4th Grade Frolics for the inspiration! :)
Wanting: We are still renting. There are two potential houses in the country, that are suppose to be coming up for sale this month. I'm just hoping they are within our price range, everything outside of town seems to come at an extra premium. Ugh.

Needing: I need to get a plan of attack for the first weeks of school. Now that it's August, I need to kick things up a notch.

  1. I can sympathize about the bulletin boards. I always enlist the help of my husband and my mom (who is a kindergarten teacher) with those pesky bulletin boards. :)

  4. Love the sneak peek at your boards--too cute! I agree with you on the Sharpie pens--they are awesome. I am trying out the Frixion pens everyone has been talking about. I like the idea of being able to erase, but they don't have the same extra fine tip the Sharpie pens do. Think I'll be using both this year for different purposes.

  5. Your bulletin boards are going to look fabulous- I like the sneak peek. I can't wait to see what you do with mentor sentences. I think it's something I might try in the middle of the year after I get my kids beefed up on grammar a little more.
