Here are a few of the ways I try to eliminate/deal with stress:
My day goes much better if a start if off with time for prayer and a short devotional. It just gets me in the right mindset. You may have to wake up a little earlier, or prep things the day before (lunch, outfit, etc.) to have the time, but even 5 minutes of quiet time can really help.
My first year of teaching especially, having a support system was HUGE. There was a group of teachers and their spouses that my husband and I were able to connect with. Often a monthly TGIF would occur, more often as the end of the year craziness occurred. A time to share the frustrations and fun as well as a few laughs throughout the evening.
Have an activity that's fun for you to do and do it. For me, I enjoy being outdoors, reading, crafting, taking pictures. I don't always make enough time to do as much as I'd like to, but it sure is enjoyable and a stress relief when I do!
During my drive to and from school, I usually crank up the music. I enjoy several different genres so depending on my mood/day there can be quite the assortment of music to be heard from my car. Depending on the song I can get pumped up for the day or chill out a bit too.
Now that baby girl is here I LOVE to spend time having snuggles with her. Relaxing with my husband and daughter, taking a walk with the dog, going out for a cruise in the country. Each are little ways that I find joy in my day and I make sure to make time each day for these joy filled moments.
